Modeling Resources

The number of young girls (and boys) who dream of becoming a Professional (i.e., paid) Model is astronomical, in fact what young girl wouldn't want to live a life that they percieve a Model Lives based upon television shows like "America's Next Top Model," "Project Runway," etc..  What most girls and boys (and parents of those girls and Boys) don't realize is that Professional Modeling is A JOB.  And with the JOB comes gruesome hours of work and training (yes, we said training), along with many, many rejections and let downs.  If you believe that simply having great "looks" is enough, then you are mistaken (sorry to burst your bubble!).  There is more to being a Professional Model than physical attributes alone.  "Looks" only count if you know how to PRESENT those looks in the presence of a photographer, Artist, or Casting Agent; which is where Education and Skill comes into play.  We like to consider new models as lumps of clay (yes, that sounds a bit corny, but it is a very accurate analogy).  In order to create a beautiful work of ART from a lump of clay it takes work to form and shape the clay, and forming and shaping takes time.  (A gorgeous Clay Vase is NOT created in 3 minutes, just as a Professional Model is NOT created in 3 weeks).

In order to assist, not only those Models and Aspiring Models who work directly with Evive Productions (or The Universal Model Group) but Models and Aspiring Models as a whole, in the ability to gain the skills NEEDED in the Professional Modeling and Fashion Industries Evive Productions and The Universal Model Group encourage each of you to take advantage of the resources that we have found helpful to our new and aspiring (as well as veteran) Models by clicking on the button(s), document(s), or video(s), displayed below.  Review these materials as often as you wish and/or as often as you feel you need to, in order to gain skills that will help you grow.

Evive Productions and The Universal Model Group will regularly UPDATE our resources, so be sure to check back frequently.  If you don't see any links for instructional material that you feel is important to new and aspiring models please feel free to let us know and we will do our best to locate and add appropriate materials as needed.

Model Mistakes
THE BIGGEST MISTAKES MADE BY ASPIRING MODELS
Evive Productions and The Universal Model Group do not operate on "Egos," and we surely recognize that we are NOT the only Model and Talent Scouts, Managers, or Development Firm in the World.  We also recognize that there does exist MANY great and reputable Scouts in addition to us.  (there are also MANY firms and Individuals who operate what can only be termed as SCAMS within the industry, but we will cover that topic in a different section of our resources below).
Ms. Trudi Tapscott is but one of the many legitimate and reputable Scouts that we recognize and respect for her history, reputation, and abilities.  Formerly with VOGUE, ELITE, and DNA, Trudy has EARNED her place in the industry, and her years of expertise and knowledge is priceless.  Here's what Trudi finds to be some of the Biggest Mistakes Made by Aspiring Models.  We Agree full heartedly agree with Trudi's assesment.
Posing 101
POSING 101

Another video created by Ms. Trudi Tapscot, which Evive Productions and The Universal Model Group strongly encourages Aspiring Models to view, deals with the basics of Model Posing.
MORE POSING!

Professional Models are, very much so, ACTORS.  The only difference (in most aces) is that Models ACT for STILL PHOTOGRAPHY or Print, whereas Actors ACT for Moving (motion) pictures.  Evive Productions and The Universal Model Group teaches our aspiring and Veteran Models that Model Acting begins at the top of their Heads and Encompasses their entire Body (from head-to-toes).  Models ACT not only with there bodies shapes, but with their Eyes, Facial Expressions, Hands, and Positions.  Being a great Model also means being a Great Actor.
Here's a great video created by Czechoslavik Models of Prague.
ACTING WITH YOUR POSES AND EXPRESSIONS

So, you think you have mastered, or at least gained a good grasp of, Acting as it applies to Modeling? At Evive Productions and The Universal Model Group we believe that Model Acting (posing) is a never-ending learning experience.  Great Models are those who are EVER-EVOLVING, being themselves (instead of a lifelike manequin) and demonstrating not only general and classic posing techniques, but demonstrating the ability to adapt and become original in YOUR style and/or in the Style that your client (i.e., Photographer, Artist, Producer, Casting Agent) is wishing to achieve.
Here's a video of Ms. Coco Rocha demonstrating the ART of Model Acting (posing).  THIS is what its all about.
