Frequently Asked Questions

  •     Does UMG Charge models to become part of UMG?

NO.  Universal Model Group does not have any "Application Fee", "Join Fee" or "Membership Fee" of any sorts.

  •     Since UMG does not charge Models to become part of UMG, how does UMG make money?

UMG earns a small percentage of monies paid to their Models from the Model's Paid Assignments and Jobs during the duration of the Model's contract with UMG.

  •      Does UMG Sell any Products to their Models?

UMG is NOT a "Portfolio Mill".  While it is 100% correct that ALL Models need a Professionally created Model Portfolio and Composite Card, UMG does NOT sell either.  If a Model is unable to put together a suitable (and professional) Portfolio and Composite Card on their own UMG will work with the Model in order to find ways that they can obtain these extremely important and mandatory tools.

UMG is also NOT a "Modeling School".  Experience is a CRUCIAL part of any and all success that new and aspiring models (as well as seasoned Models) will achieve within the industries, however, we strongly believe that the best way for a Model to gain experience and knowledge is through On the Job Training (OJT).  This simply means that at UMG, Models LEARN MODELING BY MODELING!

  •     Why doesn't UMG's website display images and portfolios of the Models that they represent?

UMG assists our Models in advancing their careers and obtaining Modeling Assignments through tried and trusted Booking Agencies, Advertising and Marketing Firms, Casting Agents, Producers, Art Directors, Publishers, and the like.  Very simply put, it has been our experience that these types of contacts very rarely scour the internet looking for models to use.  Since UMG does not charge their Models any service fees we take every step possible to reduce our overhead (operating costs), we strongly feel that focusing our attention moreso on direct contact with those entities that actually hire models, or those who assist in the advancement of a model's career, is a much more effective manner of operations. While keeping this in mind, UMG has, at the specific request of our Models, begun to display "Featured Models" on our website and Social Media Accounts.  UMG will routinely change our "Featured Models" in order to allow equal exposure time to our Models.

  •    What types of Models does UMG scout for and Manage?

UMG currently scouts, develops, and Manages Models between the ages of 8 and 28, male and female.  We do not currently maintain a Plus Size Division or a Classic (seniors) division.  Height and Measurement requirements vary upon the specific division that the Model would fit in.  For example, the UMG Fashion / Runway Division is limited to Models age 14 through 28,  and 5' 8" for Females and 5' 9" and up for Males, whereas, the UMG Print, Children / Teen, and Petite Divisions have no minimal height requirements.

  •     How can I be considered for representation by UMG?

Potential Models wishing to be reviewed by UMG (and Evive Productions) for possible inclusion in our Model Representation Roster can send us a New Model Submission form through our Website.  Once the New Model Submission Form is received by UMG it is reviewed by a Model Selection Committee.  Those selected, based upon the Marketability of the Model, will be contacted via email of telephone.

  •     Exactly what Modeling Division does UMG Represent Models in, and what are the requirements for those divisions?

Children's Division:  Although UMG and Evive Productions do NOT maintain an actual Children's Division, we do scout, develop, and Manage SELECT children, between the ages of 8 and 13, based solely upon the marketabilty of the specific model.

Teen Division:  UMG and Evive Productions actively scouts and accepts submissions from Male and Female Models between the ages of 14 and 17.  There are no height requirements for this division, as each potential model is reviewed and considered based upon that models unique look and appearance.

Commercial & Editorial Print:  Male or Female Models between the ages of 18 to 25 years of age. There are no height requirements for this division, as each potential model is reviewed and considered based upon that models unique look and appearance.

Fashion / Runway:  Male Models between the ages of 15 and 25 with a minimal height of 5'10", and Femal Models between the ages of 15 and 25 with a minimal height of 5' 8".  We apologize, but UMG and Evive do not currently maintain a plus size model division, therefore all female models must be size 5 or below.  Exceptions are made to this policy only on a case by case basis, and such decisions are based solely upon the uniqueness and marketability of the individual model.

Television / Motion Picture:  Male and Female Actors, no specific age requirements although we do not currently accept Actors under the age of 8 years old.

Promotional Modeling:  Male and Female Models utilized to perform on-site marketing activations for various clients across the United States.  Promotional Models may fit numerous seperate categories, however, potential models must be a minimum of 18 years of age for Non-Alcohol related Promotions and 21 years of age for Alcohol Related Promotions.
